Wanda & Betty (Shopping Companion Volunteer Match)
“Volunteering with seniors has taught me to appreciate the beauty of slowing down and savoring the little moments.

Betty and I would spend afternoons picking out ingredients during our shopping trips, supported by the Shopping Companion program. Betty once mentioned how challenging it had become for her to get groceries on her own, and it felt so good knowing I was part of a solution that made her life easier.

One day, after gathering everything we needed, we ended up baking together. The sweet smell of cookies filled her kitchen as we shared stories and laughter.

Thanks to this program, Betty was able to maintain her independence and we built a connection that brightened both of our lives.”
