We acknowledge that the land upon which we live and work is Indigenous land. We also recognize that the traditional Blackfoot name of this place, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, is Mohkinstsis - which we now call the City of Calgary. We also acknowledge that we are on the traditional land of the Blackfoot Confederacy - Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Treaty 7 territory, which includes T'suu T'ina and Stoney Nakoda, (which is comprised of the three bands of Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley). Calgary is also home to the Métis people of Region 3. |
